Created specifically for the technology sector, the £25m North East Technology Fund will support technology businesses from the early stage through to the development funding phase and beyond.
Equity investments will be made principally to address the demand from technology companies for seed and development stage finance. Funding will be available up to a maximum of £1.25m.
Through equity investments the Fund will maximise take-up from privately funded co-investors with the aim of stimulating interest among business angel investors and privately funded venture capital institutions. The Fund will also invest in more mature technology companies seeking mezzanine finance.
