Background

North East Finance has a strong track record in developing regional investment funds and stimulating an entrepreneurial culture in the North East of England.

Over the past seven years our team has been responsible for sourcing and co-ordinating a range of innovative access to finance initiatives. This includes the creation of a suite of early stage investment funds for fast growing SMEs using ERDF and government backed finance.

The £10m Proof of Concept Fund and the £30m North East Co-Investment Fund have helped to support hundreds of businesses around the region, leveraging £40 million in additional private funding to provide investment for businesses in the technology sector.

Crucially, these funds have been supported by a range of bespoke business support products and mentoring schemes to stimulate enterprise and improve investor readiness.

This experience and expertise proved invaluable in the development of the new Finance for Business North East programme – for which we acted as strategic advisor.

North East Finance is now playing a pivotal role in the roll-out of Finance for Business. Going forwards we will continue to deliver strategic advice and ensure legacy funds are used wisely.
